In July 2014 Samsung released the SL-C423 color laser printer, with print speeds of up to 18 pages per minute (ppm) for black-and-white printing and 4 ppm for color printing, and with a duty cycle rating of up to 20,000 pages per month. Other models in the series have comparable specifications.
The supplies set is made up of four toner cartridges and a separate drum unit. Replacement color toner cartridges (cyan, magenta, yellow) are available in 1,000 page standard yield only, and replacement black cartridges are available in 1,500 page standard yield only. Drum units yield 16,000 pages. SKUs vary by color and geographic market, and all cartridges require chips for the printers to function correctly.
